shakey salt mpv i got one for the bairn its 10' 2" casts 2-4oz. great bit of kit for the money think i give 30 notes from glasgow angling center and he got a rig wallet packed with rigs aswell

the mpv is in the same range as the bass bit more expensive now tho Shakespeare Salt Extreme Spin, Bass and Flattie Rods – Glasgow Angling Centre
Use one of these for my spinning as i dont do alot of spinning and they work great, cast upto 2oz but would be ok with a 3oz if needed.

Nice and light and cheap too, think a salt bass might be abit heavy for a five year old.

I'm after getting a decent rod for me 5yr old grandson. It's ganna have to be a f/s joib like as he ain't quite got the hang of a mult yet

got to agree with the salt mpv brilliant rod for the money best out of all the salt rods if it was badged different would go 4 double the money

ive got a 9ft rod lying round doin nowt.you can have it for the bairn dont want anything for it,probably casts 2-3 oz
