Roker beach

Just been for a walk along the walkway from seaburn to Roker ended up having in a few pints and lunch in the Roker hotel, was wondering how the beach at roker fishes and what times of tide would be best.

I know the bay between the piers is a good shot on a South Easterley. I have seen people fishing the beach on the seaward side a few times though.
