safcman went down to roker pier with his dad and bro in law on wednesday. Fishing on the pier head. Soon as they cast in they were getting loads of bites but nothing. Then Mick (safcmans dad) pulled in a 1lb coley.
The bloke to the left of him was pulling in sandeel after sandeel.
Then they said it went overcast then andy pulled out this 2lb coley. He was chuffed to death!!!!

AND I WAS SICK COS I WAS AT WORK!!!!!!

He doesnt know how to upload pics yet so thats why i\'ve posted for him

:P

looks like that fish was gonna end up in a frying pan......never tasted a coley but suppose some ppl mite like to eat them.....nice are they?

I\'d rather eat a pouting, coalies should be returned unless injured badly, they are are strong, tough fish that doesn\'t taste too good in my opinion. But if you like them, keep them.

Coley - great tasting fish to eat - especially in fishcakes and in a fish-pie (mashed taties and peas, with a little bit of parsley).

I heard a lot of fish fiungers and fishcakes you buy are made of coalies unless stated cod etc. Many of you might have eaten them already without known as I probably have. I know a few people who really like them.
