roker pier 28/6/07 not a mackrel report

arrived on the pier about 9.30am after standing about for half an hour while it was opened, anyways set up two rods for bottom fishing while every1 else was spinning hopelesly for macky, what a day it turned out to be. first four hours i had dabs every cast, some absolute toppers to, with the biggest being 34cm. then about 1.00 both rods starting bouncing like mad, it was the start of a very pleasing whitey session, all good whiteys bar 2. after leaving one of my rods for as few minutes as i knew there was 1 fish on, i struck into it, the apollo was nearly doubled over, i could feel the fish as i wound in some weight to, so every 1 was looking over the side, anyways after a few seconds i pulled in a whitey and an 8 n 1/2 inch edible crab. all in all i had 26 dabs and 50+ whiteys all on macky strip. sorry ive no pics, me phones still goosed.

in between the last steps and the roundhead fishing the seaward side, fingers crossed i'll be out again 2nite for some sport.

The lad i was fishing next to on Tuesday on the pilot pier said there would be bags of fish about once the sea dropped. Sounds like he was right. No doubt he,ll be off the beach at Horden.

i wud imagine so but i never went up2 have a look, we are going down but not till about 9ish, hopefully all the nutters will be gone by then, i doubt u will be able to bottom fish on the roundhead till about that time m8, anyways shud see ya down there ya shud not miss us, 2lads with ginger hair lol
