Roker pier open again

Was just driving home from work and noticed people fishing on the pier and people walking up and down it, so I guess they've finished all the repair work now.....

I was on the beach on Friday and could see them welding the railings at the end, you sure it wasnt workmen.

yes its open and the place is a mess already after one day take ya ....ing rubbish off with yas, plenty winging about most of the season missed already with it been closed shame if it gets closed again

I knew this would happen aswell. It doesn't take much effort for people to clear their rubbish up then when you walk to the end of the pier there are bins provided to put your s*it in. Pure laziness!

Aye exactly. What people take with them they should either take it back home or use bins provided at the end of the pier.

Was in NETS at Ryhope today and was reliably informed there was an 11 lb cod caught on roker last night. Dont think there was much else caught though.

people need to clear all the rubbish and take it home.

people who see others making a mess and leaving rubbish need to open there mouths

I have had arguments with fishermen in the past about rubbish which has been left. we need more people to stop these people leaving rubbish.

it will only end up with the council closing the pier.

This is a tap on the shoulder mate and hopefully more people will take note of it and just keep places clean. Not much to ask really is it.........?

Fished North Sheilds Fish Quay today (first time) and its the same down there. Frozen bait packets, hand wipes ,plastic bags Etc. allover
What a mess. can't blame Larger louts. definitely Anglers .
A right tip. And Bins a few steps away.

i was down the rathouse last night ,there's stuff all over .All it takes is a plastic bag to keep your rubbish in and dump it in the bins at the front of the carpark .

Any other reports from Roker? going fishing on Monday for the 1st time is ages from the shore but want a easy spot to fish as to lazy for anything else before work

i have just returned from a walk down roker pier, the pier is packed must have been 200 fishermen on and the fishing is very poor,the biggest i heard of was a 3.5lb, i also saw a few other codling but very small about half a pound.
