just come from the rathouse 7/15am blank looking out at roker pier waves comeing over guess what sum idiots on the end no the wonder it gets closed

these people put there own lives at risk and the RNLI that have to bring them off .
that's why the gates are closed, I wish people would just think before they climb around to get onto the pier its not worth putting you life at risk and others that have to turn out to help you to safety.
no wonder the council officer in charge of the beach close down the pier even when the weather is not that bad.

Fished Whitby north prom yesterday packed in at 5pm the waves were like mini tsunami's and couldn't hold the bottom

these people might play right in to the councils hands if they do want to open the pier as an attraction, opening up the tunnel and lighthouse, they will look for a reason to close it to fishing as they would'nt want weights and hooks flailing around, especially the way health and safety is now, i knew a lad that got washed off, they found him the next day, the mesh was'nt present then but i think it could happen again, just a thought.
