Thinking about having a few hours out early doors on saturday - is roker pier open or with all this talk have they locked it off to us now? it's either that or shields pier?

Cool, thinking about heading over about 6am'ish so hoping it's a bit quieter.

Don't suppose anyone knows what time the car park next to the pier opens?

you can just drive over the grass if it shut as you come down just before the brick hut on left drive over grass there. loads of people do it and never a problem with cars.
always ok he opens gates about 8am i think but we have parked there from 6am before you could park opp chippy on front but will have to move before traffic wardens come out so i would just drive over grass park and then no worries of having to come off to move.

think they have now fenced off the car park all the way around stop people driving over the grass when the car park is closed

I haven't been down since the start of the year but I remember being able to fit my car between two bollards near to the cafe.

is they a time the car park shuts as looking to take the 2 gran kids down 3 ish to try out there new rods casting etc { had them pratice on the local field all week} trying to avoid the busy times with high tide etc

It shuts at 10 pm I think and I usually drive over the path on the right hand side of the gate if its closed and no probs doing it with my little car
