Inthe 60; s ihad a 12 ft greenheart rod it never bent come to think of it I couldn't cast it .come to think about it , it would have been better used as a pole vault lol

The Yuki rods casting weight I think should be re-classified as yes it can cast a huge weight but only in a certain style no pendulum casting in my opinion the rod should be able to cast it's given weight with any style cast.Take the RT Axe it's able to cast in any style the 8oz casting weight it has.

I would need an engine block to a Ronny T lol

Didn't expect anything but the RTA to lift it as I have said on here before went over to Gerrys of Morecombe to buy the MK 1 they said it was the most powerful rod in the shop £ 99

All it proves Phil is that the rod has a hell of a lot more carbon in it . Its twice the weight of a yuki, and it aint gonna stop me buying a Yuki . Wonder how many pages of insults this video will produce lol

What it proves is that yuki rods snap and there not a rough ground rod lets look at the facts here. A cheap rough ground snapped while a cheaper one lifted it with ease and didn't snap, then there is the casting weight ratios claims to cast 250g but only over head lobbing it if the rod claims to cast 250g there should be no limitations on how the rod casts the recommended casting weights.

I would never slate a rod I hadn't used and tried myself but just watching the vids on the yuki I deffo think the casting weight should allow for any style cast.

I know I'm not joining in with the "spirit" of the thread, but really again I cant see what the point in this "test" is? just like with the yuki one

neither rod is designed to lift weights like that?

so whats next? a 30lb boat rod casting 4oz leads?

I was fishing at Sandsend last year from the car park out of the back of the car, & as usual was using my favourite rod (out of the 2 I've got) the Axe! Inadvertantly I caught the rear bumper/tow bar of my Passat Estate & actually chucked the whole car into the sea while xperimenting with a pendulum cast! I was distraught when I realised the Missus was STILL IN THE CAR doing some knitting!
The rod didn't break though, which was the main thing! :)

My Axe is actually the rod I use the most, even though I get better range with my Surfblaster.
