ron thompson axellerator VS Vauxhall Corsa Cylinder Head

i was fishing at sandsend last year from the car park out of the back of the car, & as usual was using my favourite rod (out of the 2 i've got) the axe! Inadvertantly i caught the rear bumper/tow bar of my passat estate & actually chucked the whole car into the sea while xperimenting with a pendulum cast! I was distraught when i realised the missus was still in the car doing some knitting!
The rod didn't break though, which was the main thing! :)

lmao :D

So its safe to say that the rt beats the yuki hands down when it comes to lifting car engine s, think its funny how everyone is now running out trying to buy one since the video, bet moonfleet r gutted the yuki didn't get the same response!

But surely as a businessman I sell both so how can I be gutted, its win win for me, but for the record the Yuki has a smaller rrp than the axe but carry on

its probably worth pointing out also that the ron t axe looked a 2nd hand well used rod, meaning that a new one would in theory be even stronger imo. I still maintain that it was the huge flat spots on the yuki spigots that caused the break. if those flat spots where not there it would lift it without breaking:) BUT they are there!!
both very strong rods....... wonder if say a txl would survive:)

What a sorry reply rrp and actual selling prices are different the yaki is sold for more than the rt axe, like I said before which you didn't agree with yukki rods are scratching rods regardless what the casting ratio says there only at home with 150g leads and a couple of small soft baits flicked out over head.

Haway paul...whats with the "but carry on" ? Carry on what? Im not having a go im just stating the obvious, the axe wipes the floor with the yuki when it comes to lifting car engines and since the videos were posted everyone and there dog seems to be trying to get there hands on the axe, as a buisnessman promoting yuki rods I would be gutted the yuki didnt get the same response, im not having a go at your credentials, you run a good shop and im always the first to point people in moonfleets direction as in my opinion your the best bait shop around I just don't think these videos have done yuki any favours, but thats just my opinion, cheers mick.

i think the videos has had a positive effect on yuki, as theres a good few lads now wants a yuki who has tried the rt and didnt like the casting style of the rod, i dont think yuki has give up on the the fight just yet, they have a point to prove, watch this space, :)

Mick, I sell lots of brands and will stand by them all,(honestly) the videos have had a great response for Yuki sales as I now have orders for over 50 Valence rods from all over the uk including around here, it actually sells for less than the axe as the price on a new axe went up last year,It is also half the weight which is a feature to some guys with medical conditions, I should know as I sell a lot of them already, however the strange thing is I have only sold 5 rt ax since the video went up but had sold over 30 yukis in the same time since video release, I will always have the yuki haters and we can see them just from their posts, I personally think the videos are entertaining and one guy even said he had been fishing all day but rushed back to watch it, thats great i think, yes everyone thinks their rod is the best too, which is also apparant when you read the posts, all i will say there is a rod for everyone somewhere, i know by sales what people think of the rods I sell, I am certainly not complaining and never slag any brand off, I merely challenge people to put their rods where there mouths (or fingers on keyboards) are. if sandmand and co are happy to take the time and effort to make these vids then thats great for fishing, opinions can be made by reading threads or watching videos, but better from testing the rods in person, let me just add one note, the newest brand of rod to enter the uk is on everyones mind now.....yuki.....i aint that daft am I, only a few slating them, there are more interested in them, as my sales prove.

I think everyone who watches the rod v corsa head vids shoul'nt take them to seriously as like I said in one of the yuki threads I don't care who or what rod you own you wouldn't attempt to reel that sort of weight up you'd handball.and for another thing I don't think a reel would take it.Like I said I would never slate a rod I haven't used or tried myself I have had the RT Axe yes it is a great rock rod and not just for the price as like I've also said I think it's as good a rock rod as the best of them. Also as has been said though it won't be for everyone as they are quite heavy and are extremely stiff.I will however even though I've not used or tried the yuki stand by what I said previous a rod should only have a casting weight it can safely cast in any style.

lol i think we might test reels next what reel can lift the head up the cliff,.

i want to see if my old black 7ht can wind the head up a 30ft cliff using that rt, as people has always said 7ht for casting and **** for reeling big fish in,,,,,,,,
FIGHT ON I SAY

Bringing a big fish out the sea up a beach most reels are fine even the smaller ones just got to pump and wind pump and wind. But cranking a 20lb dead weight up a cliff or pier wall I'd say that's near impossible with any reel unless its one of these big deep sea game reels.

Good reply Paul, just to say I, like loads of others found the videos entertaining too and hats off to all involed, in answer to ur questions "you aint daft are you", nar your not mate, your a successful business man living the dream, mixing business with pleasure, but in my opinion you are daft for letting yourself get wound up thè way you do whenever anyone critisises yuki rods, ive never slagged owt off either, in all honesty I know jack about yuki rods, you probibly know more obout them than anyone but people are entitled to there opinion, anyway keep up the good work. Cheers mick.

would love to see the original 7ht test lol, prob wouldn't wind a 6oz lead up a cliff, let alone anything else:D:D,like mentioned above we all have our fav's,all this rt n leeda rods, wouldn't have e'm meself:cool:just me n my opinion, altho u lad's up there love the leeda n rt's:)
Ps,belting vid,know wonder thee strong rod's,good diam to e'm,resemble a scaffpole lol.
