Rotten-bottom links

i have just scoped out a very nice rough/mixed-ground mark, sat-photos and depth-charts, its perfect! large and small rocks, bladderwrack, mussel beds and when i turned over rocks on the shore it was squirmming with ragworm.now i will be needing to blast my rig out no further than 130yds as it shelves down deeply a step after that, according to the depth-chart.
Question to the rockhoppers:D ,I will be useing a rotten bottom and dont think it can withstand a hardish cast so i have made a copy of 1 of those R.B.links and presume it works like a bait clip? do they work as i have never tried 1 before. or do you have any other advice. thanks:)

Im not convinced about the breakaway rotten bottoms, i think i might try the floating panel pin type next. The main problem with the breakaway is that i rarely get owt back instead of just loosing the lead. Whether thats just down to the fact that im fishing into really heavy ground or the contraption not releasing i dont know.

Hiram.A.Biff - used to do some really good ones - he called them Canny Links - and thats what they where ,i am not sure if he sold the idea onto a commercial outfit ,but i still use the ones i got last year and they are really good - give him a PM and see if he can help you out

i know i will be ordering some new ones soon ,if he is still doing them

i have set myself a target of having at least 100 rigs made up before the end of July ,so will need some new gear
