Rough sea marks?

Had a potter along whitley, cullercoats and tynemouth this morning. Sea is ROUGH lol. Dead seal washed up at tynemouth (don't tell the seal huggers) sprats and other small fish dotted along the beach...

Fancy a few hours later and was wondering on a suggested mark with some shelter from the north/ north easterly that's battering the coast. Cheers

The prom at Cullercoats could be worth a shot tonight over high water mate.

You can normally drive onto the prom and fish out of your car but I think that road might still be closed due to the on-going gas works.

I'm torn between there and the top end of Whitley beach.

Just gonna sea what the winds like later on.

Yeah the prom looked nice and sheltered and I had toyed with the idea but there was mountains of weed visible though. Maybe worth a blast. Best of luck if you get out mate

Just been down Whitley for a look- not sure it's big enough for the Prom just yet. If you're fishing over top water, I'd start at the boat house if you're not getting pushed up against the cliffs then move to Little Bay for the ebb. I always like Blyth in a good Northerly but prefer the low water shots like middle bogs. If you can fish over bottom, I think the tides prob too big for Whitley beach so I'd go for Blyth or, I had plenty of fish from Colly this time last year from Hall skeer. Best of luck.

It was coming over the prom at high water but its low now anyway so not as bad. Yeah thought the beach might empty out with the size of the tide. Cheers for info Hugh.

Ps: lads surfing the midden rocks inside the harbour on 6ft ish waves haha. Looks class

just been on the roker web came 7.53pm tide is up to the prom next to the pub and going over pier in places looks canny rough.
