Fished the cliffs last night few bites but not much. then rod buckles over so i struck into a big 1 . thought i was snagged at first because i couldn't move it then slowly it started to move. head bagging every few turns off the reel then hard pulls on the rod. took me 5 - 10 mins to get it to the edge of the cliff then bang hook pulled and gone. couldn't even beach it as the water was washing right up . absolutely gutted would have been well into double figures the fight it gave.

Unucky on the lost fish mate thats the bad thing about cliff marks the risk you take getting it up the face

Guy on the cliffs near Marsden and Souter lighthouse had some sort of contraption you slide down your line which grabs the fish and you can then haul it up. Never saw it as it was in his car which was nearby. Head about these things but never seen one.
Mick.

Is that like a thing that looks like a claw which wraps round it's head? I think I've saw one of them before.
