Why do yous think its even remotely insulting to imply that we eat cheesy chips and drink blue pop? Its like saying everyone in newcastle eats greggs because its the only city in the country with a 24 hour shopLike I said, i went in a pizza shop through there a few weeks back, cheesy chips was on the menu, ive been lead to believe only people in sunderland eat that. its still classed as Newcastle upon tyne or tyne and wear otherwise you wouldnt get your mail but I suppose its near sunderland for them to live and go out and make fools of themselves scratching cars ect
Id rather believe wikipedia TBH

Look further along, it tells you its in northumberland
look at post town Newcastle Upon Tyne, no doubt they have had to say over the phone while they ring for cheesy chips and cheap strippers
