Sardines for bait

Hi

I am off down Parton tonight but i have only got a load of Sardines from Morrisons. Am i wasting my time. I also have some muscle defrosting.

wouldnt say ya wasting ya time mate, its bait but obviously not the normal baits, personally i would have got macky or sprats from the fish counter or even prawns

Sardines , not such strange bait on the clean beaches like Warkworth. They can often out fish mackerel but are much softer flesh so using them partly still frozen helps.

nowt wrong with sprats . , they can be a bit soft. best used with armamesh . had a cracking tug on the rod last yr using mashed sprats in armamesh. also delicious deep fried in flour .
 
have had doggys and thorn backs on them of west Scotland and coalys of SS pier. and a hag fish from the gate all on morrisons sardines. but if i take them home the wife cooks them as she has had them in Spain.
 
it's a bugger being caught short on the beach with the chesties on and you've got the coat to get off before you can even hope to get at the straps.
