Last night was our Xmas comp and with a few members down with the dreaded lurgy or otherwise unable to fish we still had 12 fishing, high water in flat conditions - here's the result:

12 fished and 8 weighed in 10 fish (2 codling, 2 whiting, 4 flounders, 1 coalie, 1 dab).
1st Gary Wilson, 6lb 15oz, 1 cd (hf). Crawleys
2nd Mick Roper, 2lb 4.5oz, 1 co, 1 fl. Blyth Beach
3rd Ken Hood, 2lb 1.5oz, 2 fl. Blyth Beach
4th Iain Galbraith, 1lb 10.1oz, 1 cd. Back of Kings
5th Mick Ure, 0lb 13.9oz, 1 wh. Collywell
6th Kev Moffatt, 0lb 11.5oz, 1 wh. Blyth Beach
7th Phil Smithson, 0lb 10.8oz, 1 db. Blyth Beach
8th Paul Roper, 0lb 4.3oz, 1 fl. Blyth Beach

Here's me with the winning fish - I'm sure it'd have gone over 7lb if it hadn't pooped all over inside my fish-bag:rolleyes:

Hi gary mate. I was one of the lads fishing down there when you pulled it in. I said to you it was a 7lb fish! Well done mate. We had a few knocks after you left but they came to nothing! So just the one between us at 4lb.

Shame you didn't get any more mate; I thought it might have come on as the tide was dropping back, but I find Crawleys a funny old place - for me, it looks like it should fish a lot more than it usually does! I normally fish it over low water but given the conditions that night I figured it was worth a shot over high. Mind you, after 3 & 1/2hours without so much as a nibble I was beginning to think there was nothing there again lol!

Gary :)
