Sea kayak

I've got a very strong urge to buy one of these mainly for sw Scotland
But never used one before
Has anyone got or had one?
Do you recommend them?
How east are they to use/fall off?
The one Iv decided on is a tarpon 120
12ft

go for it m8 there are a lot of kayaks out there now with good reports on fishing with them , if I was 30 years younger think I would be after one myself.
my m8 has a sea kayak and he loves it takes it down to seaburn most of the time.

Hi tony think what your looking for is a SOT (sit on top) that's what is used for the kayak angling.
I have done it for about 7 years now and wish I had done it earlier.
Plenty lads now doing it around the north east with plenty advice available.
Also have a look here. http://www.anglersafloat.co.uk

get 1 m8 & u wont look back.
my m8 had a double yak & we went all over in it & had some bags of 60 & 70lb of cod in a trip,
we never tipped it yet m8, & we have surfed in on 4ft swell.
it can b a dear do m8 2 deck it all out with fish finder, g.p.s ect but well worth it.
1 time we were sitting between 3 charter boats 3mile off & we were out fishing them, a fish every drop & if u could see the faces of the lads on the boats they were not happy at all after paying wot £30-£40 each.
bill.

Tony get yourself a yak, you won't regret it. It's a great way to get among the fish, beats shore fishing hands down. There's loads of people in the North East taking it up, you won't be short of paddle buddies.

plenty people on about buying a yak , but dont forget that you need all the other gear
drysuit if your fishing all year /wetsuit ok just for summer
pfd ,vhf radio compass ,
as the lads have said plenty help and advice to be had and a lot of good lads yakking in the north east that will help you out
try and get out and try a few yaks to see what suits you
i would go down the second hand route as you will get a full set up for a lot less
heres a lad a few of us know getting a decent skate
