Newbiggin. Flat as a ....
Last night was the last Sea league Match of the season.
...And the stage was set for 'The money match.' Newbiggin was the chosen venue and anglers were highly optimistic of catching an elusive cod!
Unfortunately, they didn't show unless your name was Newbiggins Simon Park.
He battled with 2 hefty specimens and a smaller cod for 13lb 11oz.
Fortune favoured the brave and no more so than Shires Gavin Owen. Gav swapped his size 4's for 4/0s last night as he went all out for cod. Fishing in zone 5 around the Cambois area he came up trumps coming back with the 2nd heaviest bag of the night, 2 codling for 4lb 1oz.
