Newbiggin. Flat as a ....

Last night was the last Sea league Match of the season.

...And the stage was set for 'The money match.' Newbiggin was the chosen venue and anglers were highly optimistic of catching an elusive cod!

Unfortunately, they didn't show unless your name was Newbiggins Simon Park. :) He battled with 2 hefty specimens and a smaller cod for 13lb 11oz.

Fortune favoured the brave and no more so than Shires Gavin Owen. Gav swapped his size 4's for 4/0s last night as he went all out for cod. Fishing in zone 5 around the Cambois area he came up trumps coming back with the 2nd heaviest bag of the night, 2 codling for 4lb 1oz.

...and the results are as folllows.

Zone 1 (Cresswell)

John Jennings 1 fish 2lb 3oz (Newbiggin)
Steve Potts 1 fish 1lb 1oz (Shire)
Sean Scrim 1 fish 1lb 1oz (Five Scrims)

Zone 2 (Lynemouth)

Chris Potts 1 fish 2lb 3oz (Shire)

Zone 3 (Newbiggin North)

Simon Park 3 fish 13lb 11oz (Newbiggin)
Mr King 1 fish 2lb 4oz (Five Scrims)

Zone 4 (Newbiggn South)

Phil Skinner 2 fish 3lb 3oz (Whitley)
Bob ferguson 3 fish 2lb 8oz (five Scrms)

Zone 5 (Cambois)

Gavin Owen 2 fish 4lb 1oz (Shire)
Ken Robinson 7 fish 3lb 8oz (Whitley)

Well done Five Scrims for Winning the league...AGAIN!

Top Angler Steve Potts!

I didn't turn out. Stayed in to watch Celeb Big Brother instead. What a Roar!

Cheers Peter.

P.s. Anyone who wants to enter a team in the league from the site can PM and I'll let you know the details when they become available for next year.

Or just pay your money fish 4 matches all your team blank in every match then ring Alan Yates and ask to fish the final??

or just pay your money for four matches, and don't fish, save your travel and bait expenses and still quailfy, from a great league to a complete farce, chances of getting the final up here are nil
