at the end of the day mate most police are a waste of space and me personally i cant stand them, they've never done anything for me. and when you look at all the innocent people that have spent years in the chokey for f**k all, boils my p**s that does. and the lad who was shot for looking like a suicide bomber whats that all about, trigger happy pigs thats what it is. and before you start going on about me having a criminal record (the reason for me disliking police) (like another member has) i dont have one, in act ive never been arrested.

bri its got nothing to do with the match, i expected us to get beat. im just sick of the police thinking they're whiter than white. this whole thing started cos the police are constantly targeting anglers as they're an easy target. ill keep saying it till my face turns blue I HATE POLICE.

ok so when you crash your car, get ran over, your kids go missing,you get burgled,your dog goes missing,you get robbed,stabbed,shot,raped,your neighbours are noisy,your ex has sent you an abusive text,you need a shotgun licence, your worried about an elderly relative, DONT RING THE POLICE, THEY ARE A WASTE OF TIME.

What a load of tripe that post was! what about the millions of genuine criminals who have been locked up ?

And looking like a suicide bomber? if your told the person you are following is a terrorist and about to blow up a packed tube train what will you do?

a) go on an internet forum and moan about the police

b) make sure your 100% certain before you shoot him? ie let him detonate the bomb and kill loads of inocent people and himself oh and probably you aswell

c)put your own life at great risk,protect the public, take positive action and shoot him?

This that boils my urine is that de menes as tragic as it was got a hell of a lot more media coverage than the 56 people the terrorists killed the week before. If your the kind of person who would let that happen again then good luck to you!

in 20 years of fishing i have seen a cop speak to an angler once, that angler was me when he asked me to move off the end of cambois hot water pipe because it was dangerous (it was) no threat of arrest, no prosecution, no attitude just a polite request.

And no it wasnt cos i was a cop, i was an 18yr old kid at the time!

also as an ANGLER i am sure you would have no problem with the police having a walk along say roker pier and reporting all the lazy scuffy gits who leave rubbish and rotting bait alll over the pier for summons for littering? After all they get ANGLERS a bad name and spoil it for everyone else.

i dont have a car, i prefer to cycle. ive been hit by a car before on my bike, i just got up and walked away. my kid wont go missing as there's two rapists living in my street so she's never out of mine or my wife's sight. my house wont get burgled as i have a 8 stone american bulldog (you need b***s to take one of them on). my dog wont go missing as he's fully trained. i wont get robbed,stabbed,shot,raped as there's no one stupid enough to do that to me. my neighbours moved out as they thought i was too noisy. my ex doesn't have my number. who needs a licence for a shotgun these days . and i dont have any elderly relatives.

Fair `Nuff - i dont really have much to do with the Rozzers Thankfully - and dont pass opinion on anything they do or dont do - was skittled for £85 in 1987 ,when there was a brawl in Ocean Rd - i was holding the coats :red: ,so had nowt to do with it ,but still ended up in Kepple St Disco for the night - life moves on , the lesson i learnt was to check your charge sheet before signing - as mine had about 20 words on it before entering the cells - when i left it still had 20 words on it - but because i signed the very bottom ,i had left a VERY large area to be written in ,and guess what - when i was in front of the Magistrate ,there was a full page of what i had said and done ,but as i had signed it ,it was right wasnt it !!!

But everyone to there own opinion about Our boys in Blue - personaly there is Rotten and Good in all walks of life

i have a couple of mates in the Force they are both Good Guys - i know of 3 who were not so good ,but were sussed and peddled out of the force - as it should be

You sound like you think you are a right hard man??? You should remember no matter who you are theres always somebody harder,more crazy or more drugged up than you who will have a pop at you even without reason.

but why do they speak to people at those spots? because they are trespassing and shouldnt be there and the land owners call them for assistance. Do you know of anyone who has actualy being prosecuted for fishing in one of those spots?

what harm are anglers doing in them spots, fair enough trespassing but all they are doing is catching fish or trying to, whats the harm in that, im sure the police could make better use of their time.

the majority do not cause harm but some do, look at the public piers, its easier to keep everyone out than try and just stop the idiots. also its saftety liability etcc etc

I cant see any point in people giving it the big "i am" on the internet, its daft. I just posted some reasoned arguments to counter people slagging the police.

Theres good and bad in every job, most people i know at work genuinely try their best. Its easy to criticise from the outside when you dont know how things work internally, the bizarre rules and policies we have to work to, the way we are not allowed to use common sense and judgement any more.


I could post that "all" taxi drivers are crap drivers, i dont but a lot of them are. its the same argument.

We know you are "all good for an argument", but to be honest the crap you posted on here about people from Sunderland in the past was unbelievable coming from a man in your profession. If it was up to me you would of been banned the minute you rejoined.
