seaham south first fish of 2012

Well me a my mate rob decided to try the southy after the biggish seas so we headed down at around 11pm last night to fish the tide up there was a few already down so had a bit crack but no fish doing anyway i chose a mark on the pier and casted out had a few small nibbles then after 20 mins or so i decided a bait change was needed just as my hand touched the rod its tip bent over so I quickly grabbed the rod and a load of slack line I struck into a half decent fish once at the bottom rob quickly hand balled it up a nice cod just under 7lb a new shore pb for me and first of 2012 next cast produced a cracking bite resulting in a 3lb cod 3rd cast I missed another bite then it went dead not even a twitch then just before high water I managed a nice ting we then decided to call it a night rob did miss a slack liner but ended up with cheque book and pen

there was no fish there today what i saw. poor. (dunno if dixon got out after i left)

i had a few out on friday night but nowt over 2lb back on the chems beach as the pier wasnt producing.

looks like the best tide was when the sea was flat!

It was just a daft hour then it went dead seen daily get one on the north drum around the same size
