Fished it a few times since the torture trail, sorry, the steps were built.
Only thing I had out was a small codling. That was caught between the piers into the harbour area. Cast from the south pier head towards the fist set of crumbling steps on the north pier into the middle.
No rocks, clean ground and the only thing to prevent a clean retrieval of lead is if you manage to foul up with the scrap metal ship leaving harbour.
I just don't think there's owt doing though. I had a good few tiny snatches at my bait last time out but this was more than likely from small species fish such as rockling.
The lad fishing down from me got two small coalies on feather, small feathers though, and that was in flat calm water, no colour and low water, ie not a very high tide.
To chance a heart attack getting up the damn steps it'll take a bit more of a favourable northerly for me. If I was a disabled member, not one of elderly age, I'd be a bit miffed as using the south pier is impossible for them.
