Seaham. Where's the cod............

It's been a few weeks since me and Allan had been out, and we were chomping at the bit.We had the boat ready to go on Friday but the wind and sea got up so we stayed in port and did a bit boat maintenance and tidy up.

The weather report was good for today and the sea had settled and we were expecting cod.

We anchored half a mile off the pier and put out two rods each, one uptide with blacks and whole squid and the other over the side daylights baited with macky.

Sport was slow with whities taking the daylights and putting up a good fight on light gear.We had little or no interest on our uptide baits with only the odd greedy whitey taking them.

No cod today but, we'll be back.

Canny flat.

Great report and pics ( specially the last one ) Davey and Allan, the whitey you held up was a beauty and it looks like you had a few more as well :)
Hopefully the cod will re-appear after a stir up this week...:)

I spoke to Keith on the way in and he only had one cod....

Nice report and pics, making the time feel closer now :) ....

Great stuff, shame no cod yet, but it won't be long.
