Try using a longer uptide rod to give them more action. Slow sink and draw works well especially when the tide slackens.

laughed at your old man last night when I shouted over5" rubbarb and custard sidewinders were doing the trick for Codfathers Father last night with a 6lb cod on the first drop and same again for the second drop
Just so happens he used the last one setting up while I was driving to the first mark
I was sure we had more, but suspect he threw the rest overboard as soon as he started catching cod on his.
Most of the ones we use have a built in wieght.
As we headed into the lock at 6 pm ish, a lad on Allicat told us "codfathers father was going to catch all the cod tonight "and he did. :red:
Leaving me with nothing but mackeral and a couple of nice fish lost half way up.
Probably due to codfathers father cutting the points and barbs off my hooks.![]()
