The \'Team Conoflex North Wales\' team win the SAMF National Sea League finals. The team , using Conoflex Welsh Wizard and Enigma rods, include;
James Fraser
Mike Flynn
George Smith
Dave Morrell
Shane Russell

Top match angler from Wales Tony, fishes all over the country for Penn points matches, including in the north east.

shane rusell is the captain of the welsh shore team for the world championships very good match angler fishes all over the uk and ireland.think he won the penn sea league final fished at hollyhead breakwater a few years back.

TC started this post following a conversation between him and myself regarding Shane

Beachcaster/Davyred, you are right, he is one of the top sea anglers in the country

Just to move on the thread on a bit, I am thinking of getting Shane to come up to do a talk with all profits going to the RNLI as this is NESA\'s charity, hence the conversation between TC and myself.

I spoke to Shane on Friday and he is very keen to come up. The plan would be for him to do a guest speaker night on the Friday night and then be at my shop on the Saturday to give advice, chat, etc.

However, as I would like to get as many NESA members as possible to the guest night could you give me your feelings on the following points.

1. What sort of area would be best for the venue e.g Whitley Bay, Morpeth, Tynemouth, etc

2. What sort of evening would you like? Just the guest speaking or a question and answer night. If it is the latter, Shane has said that he could probably get a couple of other well known names to come up with him

3. Would you want bar facilities (stupid question I know) and a buffet?

Any comments on these or anything else you can think of I would be grateful.

I am hoping to organise it October/November time and if there is a comp on anywhere that weekend Shane may well fish it whilst he is up.

Cheers lads

Ian I would be very interested in it,a bar would be fine lol,how about the North Shields/Tynemouth area as that would be central, the lads and lasses used to have meetings at the Porthole and the Zetland when they were organising there Boat comps for NESA,maybe these could be an option :D

Sounds good, so what roughly would ge actaully taking place on the night gromit? a chat, natter bit more natter and drink :P

jonny_mc

The format of the evening is entirely up to the members on here. Q & A, talk on anyaspect of sea fishing, etc.

Maybe something like meet up, good natter amonst each otha and with Shane, an hour\'s Q & A or talk, then buffet and more drink

Or owt else you fancy

Count me in, just let me know the venue. If its noth of the wear, I\'m sure a few from Sunderland/Washington would share a taxi/minibus

Cheers Davy

It\'s looking promising for numbers and will hopefully be a good night

Shane is very flexible, just keep the ideas for the format of the evening coming. Its\' your night so may as well get him to do what you want!!!

I think a questions and answers session seems good, maybe we could organise a raffle as well, would Shane be able to blag some gear off Conoflex or other contacts he has :o,NESA normally has its shore comp in November maybe have the comp on the Friday and the \"Do\" with Shane on the Saturday, that would give alot of people the chance to attend both or maybe just the \"Do\",Shane could present the winning with his/her prize ;) ,worth thinking about as it would create alot of cash for the RNLI and raise the profile of NESA.

I like the idea Alan, I\'m sure Shane would be willing to do the Q & A and present the comp prizes

A raffle is a must. I\'ll even blag some stuff off my suppliers!!!
