Sounds like a great idea. But what about some of the great anglers in the North East perhaps one of them may be willing. We have several England regulars to chose from? But count me in what or when ever not bothered about venue it would be good to just talk fishing.

Sounds a great idea,i would love to pick the brains of someone like that.
I would come as long as the wife is well.
Never know on that till the day,as to location.
Hard to say,a working mans club will give a big room and cheap beer.
If you held it mid week who might get it free as well.

Spoke to Shane yesterday and he is available the last two weeks in November and first two weeks in December

He would like to do the Q&A on the Friday night and will bring one or two other people with him

On the Saturday he will be at my shop to answer more questions and give advice. We will make quite a day of this with drinks and everything laid on.

If possible he would also like to fish a comp on the Sunday up here if anybody knows which ones are on around that time. Or maybe have the NESA comp on the Sunday?

This is is just a rough outline of an itnery. Any comments would be appreciated.

:D :D

Grommit send me an e mail and i will send you a list of opens, I will put you on my e mailing list, any other shop want an open list please do the same.

Just a thought and it does require a big commitment from the lad.
How about raffling off a master class with him.
A days fishing on this coast where he can go though your set up,baits, tackle etc and offer advice.

Applaud the sentiments, Ell.........but \"sell\" to who?

People who couldn\'t make it to the event
People who made it to the event but would also like a record of it
People who made it but do not possess total recall
Any enthusiatic sea angler
Sea anglers that collect fishing dvd\'s
rayuk
People who\'ll buy any old tut for a good cause
sixfootsteve
NESA members
Passing trade

might all be interested in purchasing :P

Oops :casstet: Any money raised to RNLI or a charity of Shane\'s choosing possibly

there could be a copyright issue with Shane, charity or not he might say no,excellent idea btw Ell not knocking you mate ;)

Good point, Alan.
If he\'s sposored by Conoflex (or indeed anybody else), there may well be an issue there.

Ell

PM sent m8. I thinkit is a great idea if Shane is willing to do it. Of course you cant get me in any of the shots as I am more photogenic than shane and I would hate to steal the limelight!! :D :D :D

I can only ask him and see what he says

Couple of questions for you all so I can get things moving.

How many people would we realistically be looking at going

Would it be possible to arrange the NESA comp sometime during last two weeks in November and first two weeks in December and hopefully Shane can then do the prize giving.

might be worth having a seperate thread for people thats interested in going that will keep the two topics seperate and make it easy to follow

Ok, just spoke to Shane this morning

He is quite happy for the event to be videoed and any DVD/Videos produced and sold he will be more than happy for the money to go to the RNLI

Also he is willing to offer as a raffle prize a days sea fishing with him down in Wales, date and time to be arranged at a mutually convenient time. The winner will have to pay their own travel and lodging but will have a full days fishing with Shane with some cracking tips and advice.

:D :D
