Sheilds pier 23.8.11

A fella next to me pulled in a Guillimot this morning on the pier. Had one hook in it's wing and one in it's foot but managed to get it away ok. I had some practice with one myself on Monday while fishing off The Groyne.
Not a lot you can do to avoid them as they travel so far underwater.

Was straight off the end mate. I've tried all different lures and marks all around the country and scotland and never managed a pollock that size lol. Wasn't nice seeing a bird dying like that especially after I so carefully unhooked a weaver as hate killing anything unless it's getting used for bait or eaten. Just an unfortunate event I suppose
