hi all:)
went down to pottery bank today to use up some leftover bait and took the 4yr old daughter down for the first time!
set up her "davy hayley special" flattie rod and said we need bait now!
next thing i know shes found the fattest ragworm in the tub and without a care
hands it to me!!!
after that she was the "worm manager":D took to the whole thing like a lamb so
the futures looking bright indeed and im one very proud dad:)
Alas we didnt catch any fish but my little girl lost a good one in very weird circumstances:confused:
got a really good bite so i started reeling in with fish on then about 20ft out i see summit roll in the water?? then the line goes stiff then snagged up then im not?? bring rig back in and both snoods missing? could it be a seal??? heard they do venture that far down but hey:):)
all in all had a very nice few hours but would of liked for my daughter to get her first fish but theres always a next time:):)

i mate might have been a seal we see them up at newburn riverside on the bigger tides n thats about 14 mile up from sea n they even been seen at wylam chasing salmon in the pool on occasions

seal loads in river, wont be long tiill she starts catching and will be a speciman with that rod.get her down next week on the small tides. davy.

Takes me back that story to when I took my youngest daughter to Craster pier fishing with a float and fresh crab. She would have been 3ish at the time pulling coalies in with a little help from me, and clapping with excitment with onlookers clapping with her, while a couple of other anglers fishing with worm were getting nowt.
