Me and mate fished shields the day at 44, kicked off at about 10:00 and caught fish from the off, whities, coalies and dabs, pretty miserable and more windy than I thought it was going to be but at about 13:30 the wind stopped and then within 5 minutes me and gary pulled in a couple of decent codling, first me, classic slack liner and then this-

Weighed in at 3lb 12oz.

The swedish slapper off the mark. I'll tell you what, this is the best reel I've ever used, it's just a dream to chuck, infact I think it's impossible to nest. I'll have to start messsing around with the bearings to see if I can improve it which will be hard. It just goes a mile trouble free.

Anyway, no sooner pulled in and gary gets a one-

And that was it, the wind picked up again and no more takes.

ps. I've found a use for Glasgow Angling supplements, their good for filleting fish on and binning

Well done on your catches. We had some canny Whiting yesterday but no cod from the pier. Glad the reel is running well for you.
ps, Don't mess about with it if it is running well already :)

Cheers lads.
