shields 9/6/12 - bass

Hello ppl
Me and goose1 fished 42 (mark X) today. started at around 11:00 and it looked like we were ganna get drownded but as the sesh went on the weather improved and it turned out to be a cracking afternoon weather wise with plenty of sunshine, wind was with us too which made chucking easy:D.
I think it was around 12 when mate gets a canny flattie-

I never had a knock and then me mate gets another which gave him a right old run around pulling it in:D:D-

It's the first bass I've seen off of shield pier like so well done to him.

Meanwhile I was getting really p****d off as I still never had a knock:(

Then last chuck at around 5 and I avoids el blanko-

Bait used was frozen peeler. A few others incuding viking, 2 rods and I think bestnest (just guessing so might be wrong) were fishing up at 44 and it looked like they only got small stuff as well but again may be wrong. I heard off ppl coming off that there had been some canny codling off the end.

Anyway it was just good to be out and the canny weather was a bit of a bonus as all the forecasts I read said it was ganna p*** down all day.

Well done G.ordon m8 as thats what its all about getting out there and doing your stuff and yes the weather lately does not help does it m8 but you succeeded in catching some fish.:D:D:D:D
 
Nice 1 mate and well done for sticking it out, got ya rewards.

I thought i had caught a bass while spinning for a few macky last year, was chuffed to bits. When someone seen the photo i was then told it's not a bass it's a shad (still got the pic somewhere, also i'm not saying yours isn't a bass as it clearly is) so i have still to break my duck with a bass:(

This year hopefully:)

Well done on the bass nice little fish

We fished the end today from 8-5ish and only had undersize codling and dabs

All that came in on the end all day was undersize codling, coalies, dabs a whiting and a just size pouting!

Was a canny day tho, plenty of good banter
 
Cracking report Gordon your dead right me and the viking fished the blocks a got nowt and alan got a couple of small coalies yer fished us under the table mate well done av never seen a bass caught off the pier for along while.
 
bass seem to be getting more common now my 1st was some years ago off tynemouth beach (didnt you hear the shout GET IN when i caught it :) ) but iv only ever seen one haddock caught from tynemouth pier and one catfish altho go on a boat just off the piers you get them.

Yer mate it was kind of wierd, you could see the clouds just inland, like over jarrow etc. but shields pier was spot on. Just a couple of outburst that only lasted for 5 minutes or so and that was it:D You could see the clouds coming over but they kind of veered off inland:D Funny thing the weather like:D
 
Nice bass on fish am hoping to get to Neva Eva got one lol r so one part from on pics nice one well dune what siz was it ?
