Fished the big beach, low tide up, on Saturday night with a mate, both using runnidown, sliding ledgers, 2/0 pennels. i was hoping for bass as usual, but still didnt get one.
First hour of the flood was quiet, then the fish came on at 11pm. I was first with a small codling, then Sean got the biggest fish of the night
Tried to release it, but it didnt swim and got washed back up.
My next fish was a coley, first one ive had since before christmas
It was fish every cast for an hour, with a few more small codling before it went quiet again. Packed up at 1am.
Turned out a canny session wth a few fish each; wind was a pain at first but it died down around half 11.
I also fished this afternoon, on the tyne 2.30pm-4.00pm, then the 2nd seat on ssp from 4.30pm-6.30pm but blanked.
