Shields pier this morning

Wey last night a lad was threatening to throw himself off shields pier. There was 4 police officers the coastguard on his bike the lifeboat was on standby. All for this one nutcase.

Oh and the mackerel were actually jumping out the water 1yard off the small wall. Plenty of them aswell. Not many other anglers about last night plenty space

Were the chasing something or being chased? I saw double figure pollock tailwalking last year after full size macky above the blocks

Woke up at 3.30am and couldn't get back to sleep, so did what most would do and went to grab a few mackerel while it was quiet, or so I thought lol. I got onto pier at 5am thought I had put my bag in a puddle as my arse was soaked, then realised my bloody juice bottle was open and had flooded my bag, great start ffs.

Got to end of pier and could see what I thought was a rod, then closer I got to end realised it was a rod rest, no ones about though so must of been left I thought. As I got even closer noticed loads of rubbish, empty beer cans, a bag with a couple of mackerel in and then noticed a rod on the ground, and further again I got and there was another rod, and then a tent.

To say the POT guy was pi$$ed off about the mess and the life belt would be an understatement.

Anyway I got myself 3 mackerel and 2 sandeels, was another fella with a few mackerel and another few fellas came and went with the odd mackerel and sandeel, no great numbers just yet though.

Think that was me who you spoke too for a minute. I was fishing the blocks for an hour. The place was a right state on the end like.

aye pete the pier was virtually spotless lats night and even cleaner after pier man came down, the plonkers in question brought 2 cases of ale down with them maybe 3 as they had that many bags with them, the one with the broken rod seemed on something when he arrived as he not have time to get drunk whilst i was there and was glad to get away when it was time for me to go home, they came down when rain was at its worst and never even had any dececnt clothing just relied on the tent but was good fun watichin put the tent up in that wind

Bloody typical summers day on the pier then, reminds me of that time some guy who was drunk beyond belief start on you for absolutely no reason bud, pathetic behaviour.
