with winter fast approaching and the cod season starting to pick up i was wondering if any of you lads had a reconmendation for a good fishing head lamp under the £100 if possible i have seen alot of second hand ones popping about but would rather buy a brand new one so if it did go wrong atleast i would have the option to take it back so if you have any ideas please feel free to reply to this post

thanks dean

try the led lenser H7 140 lumin get them brand new boxed £38 or the recharchable £52 on ebay free postage and gives all the information about them. just type lenser headlamp

a have an earlier lenser headlamp and does the job for me and this seems even better so am gonna treat me self to one

also have heard somewhere on internet there selling from £30 also free postage amstill looking for that one

been told reelsport in shields has had them in for about £45 area
have seen quite a few lads with them they have a adjustable beam, a take three small pencil batteries

Petzl Duo led 5, waterproof, takes 4 AA batteries, Two lights, Halogen and LED, Led test states both 65 and 30hrs- Halogen 5.30 - 4hrs depending on batteries, Halogen also has zoom option. I bought one paid about £69.00p, well pleased LED is mint.

Ive tried more headlamps than i can remember as i didnt see the point in spending mega£££ on strapping a second sun on my head. The best ive found was the petzl duo as mentioned above.....

A little warning though- i have recently baught a tiga 180 and i could never go back to normal LED headlamp, i still carry by petzl as a spare but imho i would get saving and spend that little bit more on a tiga or something of the sort.

I use a Princeton Tec Apex. Very light weight and very small with excellent light. Charges on x4 2700 nim and these last two sessions easy although it takes less than an hour to fully re charge. I've had all sorts over the years from miners lamps to newer variants but this one has been the stand out bit of gear in my view.

I use a Nightsearcher matrix rechargeable 3small leds or a 1watt led bulb very light and sits nice on the back of your head they are on hear fo £50

I have that Tiga too and it is an awesome output, but I think on sandy beaches it is overkill. I use a Petzl MYO XP LED lamp on the beach, but saying that, I wouldnt go on rocks without my Tiga. The Tiga really is good for dangerous rocky places I think, it gives me a lot more confidence anyway.

i use a speleo technics lamp cant fault it used it all over the place for around 10 year and only eve had to replace the bulb not cheap at around 100 quid tho :o

just new 2 this site mate, a good headlamp for under 100 quid is the LED lensor H7 it's only 45 quidish, 140 lumens very bright !! :)

Iv;e had a speleo for 13years now so i suppose that's something about it's durability but there are brighter lamps on the market, bought a black diamond icon a couple of months ago of the net 50 dollars or something for a back-up can't really fault it even as main lamp.
