Shore crab or river crab wots best

I would like advice on crab wots best shore crab for cod in the winter or river crab for cod in winter or a mixture of both ??????? As I have only used river crab for cod the shore crab I can get is from west cost or would mix a bit of both together thanks for advice and is £50 per 100 crab ok ????

both will catch cod but i would rather use shore crab, when you peel the crab the shore crab is much cleaner , and i have tried both in one session and the shore crab was better

Thanks for that mate this year I am going to fill my frezzer with crab and use it wisely. And I was going to sorce out some whites too wots your thoughts on them cheers

I have a good freind who digs his own bate last year were he digged for years is now been wiped out he has found a spot were he hopes no one digs hopefully

silvers as i like to call them are a top bait, when the cod are biting shy . the silvers imho give of a scent cod and yting cannot resist , they seem to draw in the fish when other people think there is no fish there

I have use of a boat a quicksilver 27ft with an out board engine I use it in the summer a lot

no chance of getting in there with that size of boat, a kayak or flat bottom dinghy would be the only way

if you can get crab for 50 pound a hundred fill your fridge a couple of months time they will be a pound each if you can get them. davy.

Hope you've got all the relevant licenses, tickets, insurance etc to take punters out
