Right lads going to put sum new on my rod is it better to take the old stuff of first or just Put. It on top best place to buy and what size for a century compressor sport. 1998 model. Thank s lads

I replaced some on my TT sport bry. It's a doddle. I just carefully cut the old stuff off. It doesn't shrink on the length when ya heat it up. So make sure ya put the end where ya want it. Then tuck the other end inside the blank .

hi 1998 is that the mk1 without the metal band?if so the old shrink should come off no bother which is what I'd recommend as you'll just be adding weight and mm's which then might give you trouble with reel seats etc but if its the later metal band model thats glued on and a bit of a mare to get off.

I got mine from rutherfords mate. He does the Japanese one. It's £15 for a length. I used a heat gun for stripping paint to out mine on. If ya don't fancy it I'll do it for ya.

andy rutherfords its the pattern on its about £15 to £16 l think there's enough to do the full but

Mine didn't have the pattern on. Just plain black. But aye it is enough for the full butt.

when you get a bit on say a foot of it on starting at the top then stretch it as you heat it this eliminate it twisting on the blank and gives a much better fit then leave a good inch to shrink then tuck up the butt end and put the butt cap on

If you simply put the new stuff on top of old it is likely to move around.

tennis raquet tape much more comfy than shrink tube imho.
