it's good to hear you and the family had a brilliant time mate plus + a nice reward with a fantastic carp to. the family dog sounds like a smart one. you should keep training it cos its done that good on its first time ya mite have a winner there.and well done to the grand kids on there flatty's i bet they were over the moon.had a brilliant time mate, carp to 14lb, had a great day at the gun dog trials, entered my sons dog to see how he would do. Three events 10points per event, he got a two nines and an eight, considering he is a family pet and up against gun dogs who do it week and week about he did great. Even the other competitors said he did really well for a family pet. Got some good photos as well Barn Owl, tree creeper, coal tits etc, all in all a great weekend, felt like a fortnight. Back to normal yesterday, grand kids, went fishing with them this afternoon up Copthorne, managed one flounder each.
I can tell you, the best two shaped weights are the ones you get with kids hand lines, round with a centre hole and pips of lead around for extra grip. The other is home made using a tea spoon for the mould with a loop of wire with lead poured in. Once they have flipped onto the flat side down, with the domed side up, they stay put.![]()
