Well what can I say. This last week has been amazing fishing in Norway. We arrived at Skarnsundet fjord centre last Thursday at 4pm to which we were all shattered off the early morning flights but this didn't stop us from getting our gear out and having a bash on the pier outside the front door of the lodge.
We were buzzing we were there and looking out to the scenery it was unbelievable fishing. It wasn't long before bites were coming with me and Geordie both into fish on first casts a nice codling for Geordie and a lovely haddock for me. Throughout the night we kept catching fish haddocks around the 4lb mark with codlings on the 2 1/2 lb mark.
Throughout the week we had a rented can which give us the chance to explore and try out new marks. We discovered a little island which had a little road leading to it, our thoughts were "let's give it a go". Second cast in a nice 3lb codling for me. Ian was fishing slightly to the left of me and I noticed he was feeling for a bite. Reeling in his rod tip was bouncing then a nice fish of 7lb 4oz arrived. Nice fish. Throughout the week we fished some great marks catching some great fish haddocks 4-5lb plenty codlings 2lb to 5lb some coalies 2-3lb. Ian had a nice cod of 8lb 2oz
Geordie managed a nice fish of 5lb 8oz from a mark at straumen point.
Everyday there was fish not one day did any of us blank which was fantastic.
Some of the size of the haddocks I couldn't believe, they were fantastic fish and where a great fish to connect with, fighting all the way in.
And to top it all off I beat my personal best of a fish 19lb 2oz amazing stuff.
I must say aswell Phill Dale the guide over there was fantastic anything we needed was there. He put us on some great marks to fish and couldn't of been anymore helpfull. It was that good we've already booked up for beginning of 2015. Looking forward to it already.
