My "small reel" is a slosh 20..which I have to admit I think is great...

What other reels fall into this bracket?...let's assume the budget is limitless (which it isn't LOL)

What make/brand of reel would you buy?

all the Daiwa millionire's are cracking reels IMHO, still using a 6HM which ids years old now but still one of the best reels I've ever owned

been toying with the idea of the 7ht mag, but would hate to but one and find I prefer the old one

The 7ht mag looks lovely. Been fiddling with one in the shops and speaking to people who use them get great reviews. Just missed out on a near perfect second hand one cos our lass was listening when I got the phone call haha

i have always used 525s but i got one when they come out and there a cracking reel a quality piece of kit. also if your not good with a multiplier wack the brakes on and there fool proof.

I'm a great fan of my 7HT mags, but only for clean ground (Blyth Beach / Pier & a few river shots) loaded up with 0.32 line - whack 'em & they'll go for miles & very user friendly. My only gripe with them is the lack of a ratchet. For a bit more of an all-rounder I also like the 525's (which I'm fairly new to) loaded up with 20lb line or the Daiwa Slx20. :)

i luv my slosh as well mate, but, i would swap it for a 525 super mag any day. Scot and Sigs both use them and have had a chance to cast with them and they outsanded ne to be honest, very very smooth and quite. its like there baerings are made from pockests of air lol. I'll be gettign one when i have the cash.

What was the little multiplier Ryobi used to make back around the 80's? Remember it being launched and people raving about them....

My first multi was a 525 mag extra and ive sworn by them ever since, easy to use, great for distance and ive never had any problems with any of mine.

Ive used them for evrything (clean beaches in the NE to rock marks on the west coast of scotland) and they have never failed me.
