Smiths Docks or St Peters?

My kids have got a teacher training day on Friday and I have promised to take them for a chuck. I think the Tyne will be the best place the way it seems to be fishing at the minute but does anyone know which will be the best shot for the kids, Smiths Docks or St Peters? I have fished Smiths a few times but never St Peters so any advice would be gladly received.

Cheers,

Graham,

both shots good for kids, but st peters might be better as you can fish from your car on the promenade safe you don't need big casts and wont loose any gear there has been quite a lot of size cod and whiting, flds these past few weeks. davy.

Thanks David,

Just a couple of other questions though if that's ok? Do you fish upriver or down of the Marina lock entrance or does it not matter? I haven't fished that far up river before so are the usual baits still ok, crab, black lug etc? Last one! Is it best to be in the middle of the river casting wise or drop close in to keep out of the flow?

Cheers,

Graham.

the smaller tides best as you can fish right through, anywere at st peters ,my favourite is straight down the road before you turn into st peters next to the army compound called the green door easy fishing, all baits work. davy.
