thinking of booking a caravan for next spring for me and wor lass,want to try for the hounds .anyone know where i could hire a caravan that would give me beach fishing for the hounds and and nearby pubs ect,id have to fish early mornings and maybe tea time and the odd night--lol.holderness or over west coast?.whens the best months to give me a good shot at them.any info would be very welcome

How far do you want to travel Peter? Probably the best and most consistent Smoothhound fishing is in my old neck of the woods on the south coast with loads of double figure fish every year from mid June to late August. Selsey can offer spectacular fishing off the west beach, head round to east beach for a change and Black Bream to over 2lb. Also a chance of Bass as you head towards Pagham plus Dogfish and as many Pout as you can shake a stick at.

Only about an hours drive from Brighton, 20 minutes from Chichester and half an hour from Portsmouth so plenty to keep the Mrs happy and plenty of nice country pubs in the area too.
