just east of carsluith (approx 1/2 mile) park in layby, walk west 200yds, over wall and down the gorseheavy field - eventually you'll locate the cave! try around there. big tides equals fish, but also makes holding bottom very difficult. you can also pick up tope occasionally. good luck - but be careful. usual baits!

On big tides you are cut off at high water.
The cave is circled in blue.The mark to fish is circled in black.
It fishes best when the water is coloured or in the dark.It also hoys up the odd decent Bass and there are some good Flounders.

If you want to (as much as it is possible) guarantee fish, and if you hit it right and get lucky half a dozen doubles with the chance of a 20lb plus fish...
Head for Selsey West beach in Sussex. A long way to drive? There's plenty of lads from up here head up to Etive, the drive to Selsey is only about another 40 miles and unlike Etive is motorway pretty much all the way. If the traffic is kind it takes about 5 and a half hours, three in the car and the diesel is not too bad either

They are starting to show there now. Give it a month and they should be there in numbers. Mid / late June to late July best for bigger fish, if you are thinking of going down there look for high tides about midnight fishing from dusk onwards. Daylight tides you can fish the other side of the peninsula at Selsy East for Black Bream to 3lb or try around Pagham harbour entrance for Bass.
It's a fantastic place to fish but it does get very crowded and weed can be a right pain. But for a good chance of hounds to the high teens and a possible 20 lber Selsey can't be beaten

Fished there this week, just a bit further east near the big boulders. first 3 hours of the flood, Crab, sandeel, bluey but no bites at all. I am no expert but from what I am hearing it might be a bit early. Hope this is helpful info.

got an old friend lives chapel point area told me there was quite a few 20lb fish caught there last year .night tides best single shrimp a very good bait apparently.

Lincs coast is my home ground, marks that will produce hounds are heading north from Skegness are, North shore rd(golf house), jacksons corner(south of butlins), ingoldmells point all the way upto trunch lane (south of chapel st Leonards), chapel point, chapel six marshes, wolla bank, huttoft car terrace and continuing north upto sandilands.
Some clonking fish turn up every year, the biggest are usually caught into darkness, peeler is by far the best bait but will take whole squid, bluey etc but not as successful. Best fishing mostly last half of flood and first half of ebb but when there is a run of hounds they turn up in big numbers at any time and state of tide. If you are planning fishing daylight try and avoid the popular holiday beaches as swimmers can be a pain, very funny to see em get out the water when you pull in a decent hound, shout shark and watch em run!!
If I had to choose one venue then probably chapel point after a settled high pressure nice big tides, high water around 11pm fish last of daylight into the early hours, lovely warm summers evening, no wind, shorts and t shirt and a run of hungry hounds.........must arrange a trip down. Probably end of June and through July.
