Got three quarters of the way to work this morning (geographically) but was still at least half an hour if not longer away judging by the traffic...

...I had to turn round to come home for the loo :red:...going to try again in a bit LMAO :o:D

Haven't seen any of them gritters about:rolleyes:...although did see a snow plough ;)

Cant Understand it, I drove down to South Wales on Monday and wow what a good journey, no snow (not on the M1) and everyone must have stayed at home .... great drive....

Came back today Tuesday, and but for the first hour in south Wales the roads were dry and the sun shone .. again, great drive ...........
yup southern softies :)

You should have popped in Norman. I was at home with the feet up as the school is closed again today. Drove in this afternoon and, to be fair, the paths and steps (and we have a lot) were bad - compacted and icy. We just don't have the money to equip ourselves for the one or two days a year that we miss. This is the first time in 33 years that the school has been shut for snow on two consecutive days. Mind you it's only H&S - when we were at school the challenge would have been making the best slide down the longest ramp - I haven't seen a slide on any of our yards for years - they're gritted at the first hint.......

and they're southern poo***rs

trying to go to the lieu or getting to work

we're still snowed in! couple of foot of the stuff, now frozen hard so its brilliant for sledging though, possibly another big dump of it tommorow night as well

not been out all week, down to our last 2 bottles of beer and and a bottle of benedictine left over from 2 Christmases ago :o

gotta dig out tomorrow - 300yards of track, with 18" of packed snow on it

have been hoping someone 'local' would do it with a tractor but no such look

couple of years back I tried burning it! poured petrol on it and lit it

melted about 3" of it which then froze as ice almost instantly

Aye Dave , memories there the schoolyard slides were brill especially if you got it onto a long downward slope like we had in one school (mind I was only 7 or 8 at the time)
I remember the white yards with all these black ice slides in all directions :)

Even as recent as 20 years ago you were still allowed to have "fun" in the playground...before the PC brigade got their mits on society :(

Marden Bridge hard courts - you could slide all the way along them until you got to the grass edge :D

its absolutely piling down here again right now

little known, but if there any skiers/snowboarders out there, there are several runs out here, with proper tows and the conditions are perfect.

every night its been several degrees below so its pretty hard packed powder on the hills

thought we'd try get out today... and failed

this is the road into the village at lunchtime:

and thats as far as we got. that little black square top right is a land rover discovery that was stuck, figured if they're stuck not much point going any further

took us an hour to reverse back 200 yards from there.

There hasn't been any snow over here although the hill tops are covered and it has been cold. Outside the front door we have daffodil shoots about 8" high
