4 weeks ago I went and bought 10 bags of building sand to make up some rough concrete for a drive repair.
Last week spent 2 hours clearing the drive of snow and the path outside to the road edge, used 3 bags of sand to make sure the car would grip on it. Just got finished and lo and Behold alongs come a grit wagon with it's plough down (first one since the snow began 4 days earlier) and it pushed all the ice and snow and slush back onto the drive entrance I'd just cleared and gritted.
There is moral to this tale - If everyone takes turns and starts clearing there drives/roadsides you can guarantee a grit wagon will appear.
In the end up to thursday I used a total of 8 bags continually gritting back to the road, now it's thawing I'm going to brush it up and shove it back in the bags for re-use later.
