Some cracking cod today of rough ground

Decided to go and try some rough ground on the 20 mile mark and what a day geoff and glenn had he allways seems to hit the jacpot on his trips glenn chartered the boat for himself and geoff he just loves to have the room we had cod over 20lb the stamp of the fish with a lot of the fish over the 7lb mark.

geoff with his personal best he said when they weighed it it went 23lb.

The lads with some of there catch all these fish fell to squid.

This was my route coming back into the harbour tonight the orange dot is the boat back on the pontoon moorings.

he aint lucky , you take him to the best marks on the right days:D

some belting fish there though,:)

cRACKING FISH LADS, great catch, just outta curiosity were you uptiding or still using the drifts? also were you using bait or muppets/lures etc baited?

Paul most of the fish fell to a full squid baited on single hook but a few were also caught on the jigger but squid is dynomite this time of year for cod we were drifting on rough ground 20 miles of whitby the ground fished very well.

Nice1 the cod defo not 1-3 miles off the Tyne thats for sure :)

Was like a summers day on Sat so worth the gamble to head far out.
