Look better than my new ones Graham. Caught my first codling at Eyemouth Golf Course on an Abu spinny around thing under a 7oz sinker. It was about 17lb when it took the lure and 3lb when I got it in lol.

To be fair Sless, in those days we didn't have spinning rods, we had the heavy gear, adapted to guarantee losing loads of lures for little reward. I've been dragged under the rocks at Hairy Ness dozens of times when the spinner meant for the mackeral has been hit by a nodding dog.

Thinking about it, casting out with a scarboro, 60lb line, 7oz sinker and half a dozen feathers was the '70s equivelant of the chavs on SS pier, except for the word "duck"

Hello Sless,
That's a good collection there mate, when I was a kid I used to love getting the old "tightlines" mags from Mcdougals and RS tackle. They are valuable now to collectors.

I think that's an ABU "Egon" you have too, never saw one of those for years....great stuff Sless.

Regards Ian

I've got a woolies winfield nautilus 30 multiplier, a bloke at work gave me it about 5 years ago. Wish my other reels looked as good after 5 years in a damp shed.

ive just gave seaan a whinfield reel, its their version of a penn 4/0,they had to stop making them because of the copyright penn had
