Sonik Rods

Has anyone bought or tried one of the new Sonik rods? I've read good reviews of them in Sea Angler but I believe one of the chief writers is a part owner of the Sonik company so he may be biased;). Any independent reviews would be geatly appreciated before I shell out my hard earned.

Thanks.

Hi mate, I had an opportunity to try several of the rods a few weeks ago. I have to be honest and say, of the four that I tried I would have no problem buying one. I tried the SK3SR010 13' the SK3SR020 13' the SK3SR030 13' and the SK3SR010 14'. The SK3SR050 12'6 Bass rod felt nice but for some reason I never got around to trying it. Seems like a canny bit of kit for the money.

Jim.

No writers at Sea Angler magazine own or indeed part own Sonik.

Read it again bud! Tony was indeed a contributor to Sea Angler but he doesnt own or part own any of it.;)

Steve I have - but still look in to watch all the scrapping going on....things never change on this site...

oh, and also to watch out for incorrect posts like this one - remember, no punching below the belt......

I suggest you read my original post again.

BTW who do you work for, Sea Angler or Sonik??

Going from what Paul has said I think there is a distinction between a "contributor" and someone on the actual payroll IE a staff writer for example;)...in this instance Mr Anderson will more than likely be pals with those in the business and those in Journalistic circles...but Tony Anderson is not on the payroll - thus able to influence the make-up of articles about his product...

...that said people tend to read between the lines...I would agree that I'd like to see a few more "real" people opinions and even get my hands on one myself before parting with the readies

Apologies for the hijack but ............

What scrapping - I wish there was more! Compared to many other well visited and highly respected fishing forums this place is a positive love in! Once in a blue moon here.
