Sonik Rods

Quite fancy a look at the light estuary rods...am sure Frasers must have a couple in...I'll ask on saturday when I get some bait

I asked them a while back if they were gonna get them in and they said no!

Don't think they're too happy that you can buy them direct from Sonik as well as from tackle shops. Not quite sure what difference that makes like but hey ho.

sonik are paying for all of the publicity in sea-angler,they are brand building at the moment which is normal business practice is it not.

Tim managed to sneak a bit of Sonik publicity into the journal as well . Nice one Tim, shy bairns get nowt!.

For the money the SK3's look decent. the 14' SK4 is close to going up against the big boys at £200

North East Tackle will be at the Angling & Boat Show at Nissan on 25th & 26th October. they will have the Sonik rods there for anyone who wants to try one out.

ok, my mates had a 14ft sonik for month and to be honest ,its absolutely mint. it looks good and casts excellent. it feels very similar to the greys nitra which ive got. ive had a cast and theres no difference, my mate can chuck a lead a good distance and he put some welly into a cast i was watching ,and the lead went off like a rocket!! no need to hold back. top notch bite detection aswell. all in all a really good rod for 109 english pounds!!!! im getting mine from santa lol. he uses his with a penn mag, and a abu 7000.

im getting mine from santa

this santa bloke must have shares in the company cos Iam getting mine off him aswell :D:D

Had the opportunity to test these rods out on grass under the watchfull eye of Tony Anderson from Sonik Sports. we used the SK4 multiplier and SK3 fixed spool rods. both rods rods performed very well indeed .Very easy to cast with and incredibly light, balanced and responsive. The SK3 sent a sinker over 240 yds and the SK4 achieved over 250 yds, very good performance for an affordable fishing rod .

Ho Hum - same old drama...

Facts are:

Sonik are brand building

Sonik are getting blanket coverage in Sea Angler (virtually) to facilitate above

Sonik are a North East company selling affordable rods - so they should be given a chance and not dragged into the Greys Rods are sh*te argument...coz they aren't Greys rods

As to them paying for the coverage in Sea Angler - I would doubt it at the minute. Savvy advertising in the form of articles about the product are costs borne by the magasine in question - later on they'll prob have to pay (unless they release a new range:rolleyes:)

i am sick of this sonic debate, so what if there paying for advertising? Thats how business work!!

All businesses pay for advertising in papers, magasines, radio,tv,internet, billboards etc etc etc. Its the way the world works.

I have only ever seen one sonic rod and it looked ok, not used one. I would imagine most people on here are the same, so why all the pointless debates?

did zippy, conoflex and the rest get the same slating when they started in the market i wonder, if someones gonna slate them it should be the one who personally has had the problem, not i have seen, i have heard or i have a friend of a friend who has

end the days theres a few snapped, may not be the making of them but a faulty batch of materials, even rolls royce has problems :o;)

Hmmmm. Think it was you he was having a go at ;)

you think wrong, i wasnt having a go at anyone in particular. just the amount of words spoken on here by people who havent used the rods.

Its a bit like discussing the respective merits of a ferrari enzo against those of a pagani zonda haven never seen either car nevermind having driven one! pointless!

Totally agree with your post about 3 or 4 before this one and now totally agree with this one.

Well said mate.

Was gonna post earlier as I've been following this thread but decided to bite my tongue.
I could add too what you have said but dont see the point. The rods, in time will prove themselves as will sonik as a company. Good luck too them and i wish them the best of luck in a time when your shot down before you get a chance.

Cheers

Tony

i don,t give a flying f..k about the greys,V sonik argument, all i would like to know ,is it a good rod and has anyone fished our coast with it .the original post was asking how the rod preformed, not about journalistic or business practice. If I get good reports from the lads on this site I might part with my hard earned cash and buy one.:red::red::red:

How do you know this...? Do you have any proof whatsoever, who pays for what in Sea Angler...?

I'm baffled....

Paul i take it you have come back to this site ,you just cant make your mind up ,one minute posting a thread about how and why you are going ,then up you pop ,back on

Your baffled about Zippies post ,i am also baffled

confusing messages being sent - so are you back or not ,that is the question ???

Hi All
I have bought the Sonik MK3 14ft Rough Ground Rod, got it at the Factory Shop at Blyth only tryed it twice up to now. First at Newbiggin cliffs and then at Cresswel high rocks both are rough grond marks. Will be out again a couple of nights next week to try the rod again, up to now carnt fault it coupled it with my Slosh 30 & Pen 525 super mag in the reel down position it casts a 6onz sinker and bait no bother and at Cresswell pulled out of kelp snages with ease. Only managed to catch a couple of rockling but the rod detected the bites straight away let yous know how the rod performs after a couple of more seshes.

john.
