----------------------------------

Hi all.

7 members fished today's monthly competition from 11am till 4pm. 4 members returned to the scales with fish. The top rods are as follows:

1st - P. Coates, 24lb 13ozs

2nd - M. Jewitt, 22lb 4ozs

3rd - R. Lees, 17lb 0ozs

4th - A. Scott, 14ozs

Heaviest Fish: P. Coates, 1lb 14oz, Codling

Heaviest Bag: P. Coates, 24lb 13ozs

Well done to all who fished today, tight lines.

S.S.A.C. used to have a limit of 3 fish before they were banned a few year back a junior member weighed in 105 maky for 85lb in a 4 hour match

No limit on number of Mackerel spoils the skill element of the competition given that once the Mackerel are around it takes little skill to trawl them out.

I'm sorry but allowing mackerel to be weighed in is a joke I was thinking about joining this summer just to get me out the house but maybe I'll leave it to the winter where I'd stand a better chance I've spoken to a few of the lads from your club and they tried to have the mackerel stopped being weighed in but were overruled if your looking for potential members this isn't the right way of doing it I'll probably join the winter league when the easy fish leave

I tried to get a limit on the mackerel last agm but it got overruled by a couple of votes , i think it will definitely get more of the lad's in the club stopping the mackerel slaughter during matches for the next summer season

That vote needs to be overturned. Its a no brainer, I would be gutted to bring back a bag of hard fought cod which takes time, money and skill to catch, only to find a lad has bagged up with set of feathers in a couple of hours. In short, this will ultimately affect the final standings at the end of the season. In my opinion.
