South Shields & District SAC - Monthly Competition, 31/01/2016

Hi all.

20 members fished yesterdays Monthly Competition from 1:30pm till 6:30pm, in calm but often light drizzly conditions.

14 members returned to the scales with fish. The top rods are as follows:


Joint 1st - J. Gibson (5 fish) and M. Wilkinson (6 fish), 3lb 7ozs (4.5 Points each)

3rd - A. Nickerson, 5 fish, 3lb 4ozs (3 Points)

4th - D. Carrick, 5 fish, 3lb 3ozs (2 Points)

5th - R. Lees, 3 fish, 2lb 5ozs (2 Points)

6th - R. Oliver, 2 fish, 2lb 1ozs (2 Points + 1 Point for H/F)

7th - J. Montgomery, 3 fish, 1lb 14ozs (2 Points)

8th - M. Robson, 2 fish, 1lb 5ozs (2 Points)

9th - G. Stobbs, 2 fish, 1lb 2ozs (2 Points)

10th - D. Finnerty, 2 fish, 1lb 1oz (2 Points)

Joint 11th - P. Paterson (2 fish) and I. Charlton (1 fish), 0lbs 15ozs (2 Points each)

13th - P. Coates, 1 fish, 0lbs 10ozs (2 Points)

14th - R. Patterson, 1 fish, 0lbs 7ozs (2 points)


Heaviest Fish - R. Oliver, 1lb 6ozs, Codling

Heaviest Bag/s - J. Gibson and M. Wilkinson, 3lb 7ozs


All members who fished but failed to weigh in receive 1 Point for attendance.

Well done to all who fished, and well done to J. Gibson and M. Wilkinson on the win, tough going in the calm conditions.

Too true! Whiting came on in the river but nowhere near the numbers on tynemouth, apparently the ebb fished a lot better than the flood, some cracking bags in your match :thumbup:

there was fish from start to finish andy,all the numbers from 1 to 40 fished well. I stopped fishing 2 thirds of the match to concentrate on the weighing of fish and keep an accurate record,most of the fish went back. davy.
