South shields pier 29/1/12

Fished half way to the gates. Horrible weather and with people walking back down saying there wasn't much happening up the top end I decided on the last cast, which ended up being the second last after my rod went. Resulted in a 4lb codling. Bait used rag lug mackerel and mussel. Fish took on lug and mussel.

Nice fat codling there well done mate, I fished the small beach and got absolutely battered off the rain, first 2 casts got a coalie 40cm then 37cm..had 2 more casts and quit cos I was soaked lol

Yeah I seen u, I think there was only one on the beach. The rain was really heavy and I don't have water proofs so I was like a drown rat but got my second codling so was all worth it, mental sea on the big beach though.

yeah that was me pretty close to the pier, was gonna try trow rocks but was too big..I rode past a few on my bike near the gates on the pier..wish I took the car haha
