fished it last night 7.30pm till 11.pm loads of small cod 3 sizeble bait was crab my mate had them on rag he was over the moon as he got one about lb 1/2 bigger than mine so that made his day and noticed mackrel being taken from brigade hut all the way up pier gonna try walkway tonight then put gear away till friday

Sounds a canny session well done. Fishing tomorrow night myself can't decide between Shields or one of the colliery beaches to try for a Bass 
Never fished that area of the pier - whats the bottom like and how far do you have to chuck?

l use a pully rig with 5oz gripper first gate is a mix of rock weed and sand dont lose much there as you get further up pier its gets rocky but most times get gear back l like to fish tide out at end of pier and turn of tide south east corner
