My missus has said we can go to the Mull of Galloway the first week in october.
Is this too late in the year for summer species?
And are we better of at mull or further north?
Cheers Guys.

Geoff do you mean the Mull of Galloway area or do you intend fishing at The Mull, its not the safest place to fish mate but its a experience, theres plenty of other marks to fish with just as good results, where you staying,October should be ok,normally a nice month early on,plus you have the Gulf Stream running through there.Mark had a good holiday further north and it was a bit later than October i think,he had plenty of Summer species

was up arnamurchan last week october last year, had mackeral from the rocks and tons of pollock, biggest over 9lb, all caught spinning

bait fishing turned up most of the usual suspects as well.

wasn\'t that exceprional either as the previous year, first week of november, we were still picking up the odd mackeral and loads of pollock coalies

fishing the mull itself should be a cert if you\'re wearing your brave trousers, as its good and deep

Thank you both for your advice.
Think I\'ll tell her to book it then, cheers.
I hope to spin and plug but would also like to bottom fish, maybe for conger and wrasse?
Cheers again lads.

Geoff let me know where you are staying and I\'ll pm you some info if I\'ve fished near your digs or remind me nearer the time ;)

Geoff, PM me, I can give you a cracking BnB number, £25 a night, If you say I recommended him to you, you wont need a deposit. In Prtpatrick.

Thanks everyone, didn\'t expect so much help!
If your happy fo me to then I will definately pick your brain Tack4. ;)
Hiramabiff, that sounds great mate but my only concession to the little lady is that she picks where we stay and she\'s already chose a place with static caravans mate, but thanks very much. :)
I\'m really lookingt forward to this trip now, can\'t wait to use my new bass rod! :P
